Guidance, Clarity & Support for Residential Managers

ABOUT STEVE REYNOLDS

Real Experience From Inside the Industry

My name is Steve Reynolds, and I have spent more than a decade working within Queensland’s management rights, strata, and community-living environment.

During that time, I have experienced the industry from a number of different perspectives — as an onsite owner, relief manager, consultant, and adviser — and have worked across more than 40 Queensland buildings, ranging from approximately 20 to 326 units.

I obtained my Queensland Full Real Estate Licence in July 2012 and have continued to build my knowledge through professional experience and technical education. My relief management work through A1 On-site Managers included recognition as Relief Manager of the Year 2021.

I am not interested in making things more complicated than they need to be. My aim is to share practical knowledge, education, communication ideas, and systems that help residential managers operate more confidently and effectively.

A Distinct & Valuable Technical Background

My professional background is a little different from the traditional path into management rights:

  • Audio/Video Technician & Lecturer with Queensland University of Technology (QUT)
  • Operated The TV Doctor in Brisbane
  • Completed the Google IT Support Professional Certificate and online technical training

These experiences developed my interest in technology, troubleshooting, communication, and — importantly — explaining things to people in a way that makes sense.

That combination of hands-on property experience, communication skills, and technology knowledge is a significant part of what I bring to Residential Managers Support.

WHY WE EXIST

Helping Residential Managers Become More Capable and Confident

Being a residential manager involves much more than managing property. There are people to communicate with, problems to solve, information to find, processes to manage, and relationships to maintain. Sometimes the biggest challenge is simply knowing where to start.

Our goal is that a strong management operation should not depend entirely on one person having all the knowledge. By sharing knowledge and documenting processes, managers become capable, informed, and self-sufficient.

OUR FRIENDS & INDUSTRY-LEADING ORGANISATIONS

Residential Managers Support recognises the value of established industry organisations, professional bodies, advisers, training providers and specialist services that contribute to the wider residential management, strata and community-living environment.

Over the years, I have personally used organisations such as ARAMA and The On-Site Manager to help me better understand our industry, navigate its complexities and thrive in challenging environments. I have also found value in the knowledge, resources and connections provided by other established organisations, including:

UOAQ – Unit Owners Association Queensland
SCA – Strata Community Association

There is a saying about our industry that “we are all part of a large family that you will eventually meet sooner or later.” I have found this to be very true.

Our industry is relatively small, and many of us know, work with and learn from each other. While we may have different roles and areas of expertise, there is a great deal of value in working alongside organisations and professionals who understand the realities and challenges of community living.

As a Residential On-Site Manager, you are responsible for both the building and the operation of the business. Striving to make things better is therefore something we all work towards every day.

Residential Managers Support is here to complement these established organisations and specialist services by providing another practical source of education, guidance, systems and resources — helping residential managers become better informed, more capable and better equipped for the realities of community living.

A nationally recognized Association representing and supporting Resident Accommodation Managers with advocacy, Management Rights training seminars and guidance.

Unit Owners Association Queensland

A Queensland association that are all about helping unit owners and investors reach a level of control and self management of their strata affairs.

Represents the interests of professional body corporate managers, support staff, and suppliers through advocacy and law reform, education and professional development, community building and engagement.

Lists Management Rights for sale and provides services with resources specifically relevant to management rights and onsite managers, including information and practical support for people operating within the industry.

WHY RESIDENTIAL MANAGERS SUPPORT EXISTS

Better Understanding Leads to Better Communication

Community living involves people — managers, owners, residents, committee members, tenants, contractors, and suppliers. When people understand their roles and access clear information, misunderstandings are reduced.

Guidance. Clarity. Support.

Because better communication creates better communities.
